Summit brings Annual Fund to life

Innersync and The Summit Country Day School provide video presentation to educate parents the importance of the Annual Fund

August 1, 2007

December 14, 2006 - The Summit Country Day School in Cincinnati tried something new this year to educate parents and alumni the importance of giving to the Annual Fund. At Summit, the Annual Fund is what differentiates them from any other school. Through a compelling presentation that combined video, audio, animated graphics and imagery, Summit told their story on why extra funds beyond the regular tuition were needed.

The Summit Country Day School contacted Innersync stating that they needed to raise the bar on their communications this year and ideas ranging from a slide show to children reading poetry emerged. The final decision was to present a video to parents of incoming students during the annual dinner. After its debut at the dinner, the video could be retooled and placed on the website so that Summit Admissions people could refer additional individuals there to maximize the use and effectiveness of the video.

Innersync was in charge of storyboarding, script-writing, video and photo shoots and the full production of the piece. The presentation was not only showed at the Annual dinner, but placed on the Summit web site allowing people to donate online. "The end-user is not required to download any special players or plug-ins. It was essential that when someone arrived to view the presentation that it only needed to start playing. This is a big deal when it comes to parents making a quick stop on a website. Any technical obstacles, and they are gone," says Jason Morgan, Interactive Director at Innersync.

Innersync is one of the original pioneers of this type of presentation. That is, the combination of Flash, Flash Communication Server and rich, animated graphics perfectly synched with video and sound. Only a handful of other companies were doing presentations of this caliber about four years ago. For more information, view the Summit presentation, or contact us for a capabilities demonstration.
